Shot List

Because I want my film trailer to follow the conventions of a horror, I must use the shots and angles identified with horror to be considered inside this genre.

These are the camera techniques I will be using in my trailer :

  • Extreme closeup - Typical in horror for reactions or looking at objects
  • Extreme long shot - Used to show the setting of the film
  • Medium shot - Most used shot
  • Long shot - To show characters walking/movement
  • POV - shown as from characters eyes/view
Camera angles

  • Low angle - Used to show who is dominant in the scene.
  • High angle - Shows less signification/dominance and less power
  • eye level - neutral shot. balance in the scene / equilibrium.
  • canted angle - shows instability, very common horror shot.

Camera movement

  • Hand held shots - this is the most common type of shot for horror as it infuses the idea of fear into the view because of how real it makes it seem.
